Embracing the Sour: A Lesson from Sauerkraut

Last month, I took on an unusual challenge: eating a whole jar of sauerkraut, a few tablespoons each day, on my acupuncturist’s advice. (I secretly thought, why can’t I just do what everyone else is doing and drink the kombucha?) Deciding to push through what felt super weird, slightly uncomfortable, and sometimes a bit too zippy/tangy, turned out to be enlightening.⁣

✳️ The results were 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠, with an unexpected bonus–a 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞.⁣

This small, slightly uncomfortable daily ritual gave me a new perspective on challenging myself. It got me thinking: What if we looked at our work challenges as little doses of ‘sauerkraut’ throughout our day?⁣

By embracing the ‘sour’ or uncomfortable aspects of our work, we might discover new ways of working, thinking, and thriving. Each challenge becomes an opportunity to wake up our growth and energy.⁣

So, I ask you: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 ‘𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲? What small, perhaps uncomfortable task can you tackle to 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡?⁣

💡 Let’s ferment some new ideas together! 🥬⁣
